Nicolas Feuillatte “D’Luscious” Demi-Sec Rosé, NV France, Champagne
This might just be the steal of the week! D’Luscious is an elegant and sophisticated treat. Although the term Demi-Sec does imply a bit more sweetness, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how well-balanced this bubbly is. The lush notes of black cherry, kirsch liqueur, raspberries and blueberries are surrounded by the perfect amount of acid, making a harmonious finished product. A flirty hint of spice and candied citrus are found in the background. This is a perfect after-dinner sipper, but also would go surprisingly well with cuisines that are traditionally difficult to pair, like Indian and Chinese. Surprise yourself with this bottle! Plus it’s a freakin’ DEAL!

The Prisoner Wine Co. “Cuttings” Blend, 12 California
Capturing the signature Prisoner Wine Company style, the Cuttings is a rich and seductive red. The 2012 vintage is mostly Cabernet, with the balance being Syrah, Petite Sirah and Zinfandel. All fruit is sourced from prized hillside vineyards in Napa that offer the higher-elevation concentration that has captured many a wine-lover. The name “Cuttings” pays tribute to the winemaking tradition of using cuttings from an existing vineyard to propagate new vines. This wine offers an incredibly dense, mouth-coating palate of black cherry, blackberry, plums, cassis, bitter chocolate, smoky oak and roasted espresso beans. If it is pure hedonistic pleasure you seek, than this is your wine. No one does “big sexy” reds quite like The Prisoner Wine Company. This wine was tightly allocated across the country, and will certainly sell out. Jump on it!
