Hobo “Sceales Vineyard” Grenache, 12 California, Alexander Valley/Sonoma Cty
Looking for a unique Cali red with a ton of personality? You’ve found it! From just a 4-acre parcel in the Alexander Valley/Sonoma County, these vines are some of the oldest Grenache vines in California. A vivid red color, this wine offers a nice tang of zesty minerality. Licorice and spicecake are accentuated by fresh red flowers, red berry fruit and a mouth-watering finish. Would be delicious with one of South Carolinian’s favorite foods- BBQ! This wine is somewhat understated, yet has a very excitable and energetic persona. The 2011 vintage was rated 90 Points by Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar! Just 285 cases made. WAY COOL JUICE! We tasted this bottle over the course of three days, and it’s showing no signs of stopping!

Hall Cabernet Sauvignon, 11 California, Napa
this wine barely needs an introduction! Hall Winery, and it’s big sister label, Kathryn Hall, have been steadily gaining momentum over the last several years as some of Napa’s finest. Their winemaker was born and raised in Napa, and his years in the Valley have been spent at both Robert Mondavi and Chalk Hill Estate. Hall has long practiced sustainable farming and all their vineyards are certified Organic by the CCOF. This 2011 Cabernet is about as good as it gets for Napa Cab at this price! It offers a boisterous nose filled with fresh provencal herbs, sweet tobacco, crushed violets and mocha. The palate has the perfect amount of density and silkiness. Layers of blackberry, black cherry, toasty vanilla, and a touch of creamy toffee. This wine is listed on Hall’s website for $50! This deal is definitely callin’ your name for these cool nights that we have left until Summer descends!
